The Universal II series transmitters are all purpose analog output continuous transmitters designed to measure the level of liquids, granulars, slurries, and liquid/liquid interfaces. Measurements are independent of density and these transmitters have patented Coteshield™ circuitry to enable the transmitter to ignore the presence of buildups on the sensor. The output is 4-20 mA proportional to level.
The Universal III series is a HART® protocol smart transmitter that is designed to handle the same applications as the 408-8200 series but provides the benefits of a smart transmitter. These benefits include the ability to calibrate from anywhere in the loop (even the control room); calibrate using any two known points, (no need to empty and fill the tank); and to have the output strapped in volume units such as gallons in a horizontal vessel.
The Universal III can be calibrated with standard handheld calibrators such as the Rosemount 275 or from a PC. A Device Description (DD) is available for the Model 275 calibrator.
The 509-85, True Level III series is a HART® protocol smart transmitter that is designed to handle all homogenous liquids where the material properties change over time. The 509-85 needs no calibration no matter how the material properties change. As a smart HART protocol transmitter it has all the benefits found in our other smart transmitters. The 509-85 series can be calibrated with standard hand held calibrators such as the Rosemount 268, 275 or from a laptop PC. A Device Description (DD) is available for the model 275 calibrator. |
