The USB to RS-485 Converter model PDA8485 is a simple way to make your computer’s USB port into an RS-422 or RS-485 serial network. The converter connects to a USB port on your computer and serial network is connected to the screw terminal connector. The converter also includes status LEDs to help detect serial communication errors. Two different versions are available. The PDA8485-N has 1500 VAC isolation between data lines. The PDA8485-I has 1500 VAC isolation between data lines but also includes 700 VDC isolation between input/output to power. For an RS-232 to RS-422/485 serial converter see model PDA7485.
