3D Instruments’ receiver gauges are designed to monitor pneumatic transmission of process variables. Our Accu-Drive receiver gauges can be used for permanent read-out or system verification and testing purposes.
A wide variety of pneumatic transmitters are available that convert process variables like flow, temperature, level, or other measured variables into a proportional air pressure signal. The most common transmission range is 3 psi to 15 psi; these transmitters are configured so that the lowest value of the measured variable creates 3 psi of pressure, and the highest value creates 15 psi. A receiver gauge is used to indicate these pressure levels, either locally or remotely.
“Direct Drive” Receiver Gauge Technology
3D Instruments’ Accu-Drive receiver gauges incorporate our signature "Direct Drive Difference" Inconel helical bourdon tube system. The gearless, direct drive design couples the bourdon tube directly to the shaft-pointer, thereby streamlining the design and reducing the number of moving parts from more than a dozen to just one. Thirty years of industrial application have proven that our design is vastly superior to traditional C-bourdon tubes and movement systems used in other pressure gauges, especially for vibration and pulsation.
In many severe service applications, a C-bourdon tube pressure gauge is filled with silicone to both dampen needle movement and lubricate the metal components for extended service life. In addition to increasing the cost of these pressure gauges, the case fill liquid can also cause other operational difficulties, including dial discoloration and a potential shift in calibration, among others. In most instances, a standard 3D Instruments Accu-Drive receiver gauge can directly replace an “old fashioned” liquid-filled receiver gauge and eliminate these and other maintenance headaches.
Accu-Drive receiver gauges have been shown to last as much as ten times longer than liquid-filled pressure gauges in applications with extreme pulsation and vibration. Net effects of these benefits include a dramatic reduction in cost of ownership and significantly reduced downtime.
Superior Accuracy, Reliability & Durability
Thanks to the lack of gears and wear points, Accu-Drive receiver gauges maintain their rated accuracy over the entire life of the gauge, without the need for costly periodic recalibration. Our extremely robust bourdon tube system offers outstanding overpressure protection to 150% of full scale on ranges of 3-15 or 3-27 psi, with a variety of scales available. Various case styles are available, with dial sizes of 2.5”, 4.5”, and 6”.
Top quality materials ensure durability and dependability in any application. Accu-Drive receiver gauge bourdon tubes are manufactured from Inconel, a highly elastic, high strength alloy with exceptional corrosion resistance; cases are available in ABS plastic or stainless steel construction; all wetted components are made from 316 stainless steel. The balance of the gauge hardware is designed to minimize corrosion in challenging work environments.
